“Le Diamantaire” is the alias of an artist of Normandy origin, but uses Paris as his canvas. Le Diamantaire seeks out his mirror pieces in the street and then cut’s then into diamond shapes. His diamonds vary in sizes, and can be seen high on the age old architecture of the Paris streets.

Le “Diamantaire” est le nom d’emprunt d’un artiste d’origine normande, mais qui a pour terrain de jeu Paris. Ils cherche ses morceaux de miroirs dans la rue pour ensuite les tailler en forme de diamant. Ses diamants ont des tailles variables et peuvent être vus au sein de l’architecture historique des rues de Paris.

KASHINK is one of the few very active female artists in the French graffiti/street art scene. She lives in Paris, France, and has travelled a lot throughout the world, getting inspiration from many different cultures. She paints huge four eyed characters, with thick lines, vivid colors, in a very distinctive style.

KASHINK, une des rares femmes étant très active dans le mouvement street art/graffiti, est une personne atypique. Elle porte souvent une moustache, elle peint d’immenses personnages protéiformes aux yeux multiples, ou des têtes de mort à la mexicaine, le tout dans un style graphique très coloré, loin des références traditionnelles du graffiti féminin « girly ».

Originally from France, 123Klan is a graffiti posse founded by husband and wife Scien & Mrs Klor in 1992. Station16 is proud to present a collection of original paintings, prints and street wear from this duo’s BANDIT-1SM clothing line. This will be 123 Klan’s first solo show in Montreal.

Fondé en 1992 par Scien & Mrs Klor, 123Klan est tout d’abord une petite troupe de graffiti d’origine française. Station16 est fière de présenter une collection d’oeuvres sur toile, de sérigraphies et de vêtements de la collection reconnue BANDIT-1SM. Cette exposition solo sera leur première à Montréal!

STATION 16 is heading back to NYC in 2014! This will be our 3rd trip to the big apple for New York City’s biggest art fair, Armoury Week! Once again Station 16 will be showing at Fountain Fair at booth C-201, located at the 69th Regiment Armoury building, where it all started. We’ll be showing a variety of new works from local and international names in the street art scene. A Global Street Art Story: Poland

For the latest edition of A Global Street Art Story, Station 16 Gallery is excited to announce that Olek is representing Poland. The 6-colour silkscreen print with 3D puff ink and crystalline is the first print for the crochet artist. The extent of Olek’s crocheting abilities is nearly infinitesimal, transforming everything from cars, billboards, everyday objects, public sculptures, trains, and even people into her crocheted masterpieces. Always daring, her work is consistently witty and whimsical, often exuding political and social undertones.

Born and raised in Poland, Olek relocated in New York City in 2003. Taking both the world of fine art and street art by storm, Olek has wowed critics and become one of New York’s most loved and notorious street artists.

The brightly-colored and playful works of Olek starkly contrast with the object of which they adorn, a juxtaposition that aligns with Olek’s goal to create an imaginative universe for the viewer. “I want to lure them into an alternate reality where they can imagine and conjure their own fables,” describes Olek.

Congruent with other forms of street art, Olek’s urban work is temporary and will unravel with time. The ephemeral nature of her art reveals the surfaces below the crocheted work, reminding the viewer of the stories hiding behind Olek’s art. With a body of works as endless as her string of yarn, the prolific artist continuously surprises and engages with her viewers in a unique way.

Pour la dernière édition de A Global Street Art Story, la Galerie Station 16 est heureuse d’annoncer que c’est l’artiste Olek qui représentera Pologne. La sérigraphie en six couleurs avec encre 3D et cristalline est la première réalisée par l’artiste de crochet. L’étendue des capacités en matière de crochet d’Olek est presque infinie, puisqu’il transforme tout : des voitures, des panneaux, des objets du quotidien, des sculptures publiques, des trains et même des gens à travers ses œuvres d’art. Toujours audacieux, son travail regorge d’esprit et d’éléments fantasques, sous-tendant souvent des connotations politiques et sociales.

Né et élevé en Pologne, Olek déménage à New York en 2003. Influent à la fois dans le monde des beaux-arts et dans celui de l’art urbain, Olek est devenu l’un des plus aimés et des plus notoires des street artists de New York.

Les œuvres aux couleurs vives et ludiques d’Olek contrastent fortement avec les objets qu’elles ornent, une juxtaposition qui s’aligne avec l’objectif d’Olek qui consiste à créer un univers imaginatif pour le spectateur. « Je tiens à les attirer [les spectateurs] dans une réalité alternative où ils peuvent imaginer et évoquer leur propres fables. » affirme Olek.

En harmonie avec les autres formes de street art, le travail urbain d’Olek est éphémère et s’effiloche avec le temps. L’éphémérité de son art révèle les surfaces se trouvant sous le travail de crochet, rappelant ainsi au spectateur les histoires qui se cachent derrière l’art d’Olek. Avec un ensemble d’œuvres aussi interminable que sa pelote de laine, l’artiste prolifique surprend constamment et s’engage avec ses spectateurs d’une manière unique.

Son oeuvre #Love présente un travail de crochetage qui a été transposé en sérigraphie et est certainement une des meilleures pièce à avoir été imprimée dans l’atelier de Station 16. Découvrez la sérigraphie par vous-même et obtenez votre exemplaire ici!
